Please write up an update on what you have been doing. Here you can tell us what you have been doing since High School. I know we all have done SOMETHING in the last 10 years. Be as descriptive or brief as you wish, just give a simple update is all we all request.
Some topics we all may be interested in [to get those little wheels a grindin']: Where you are living and how you got there, a new someone in your life, creation of new someones with your new someone, that thing you do that pays for your things, new accomplishments, big vacations, or just maybe something you just have to get off your chest? As I have been reconnecting with most of you, there is a voice in the back of all of our heads wondering, "What is everyone up to??" This may even spur something to talk about when we finally do get together July 11th and 12th of next year.
Can't wait to hear it. I will also be using this to compile our "News Letter"
Thanks!!

If you are interested in my life happenings for the updates.........
I graduated with a Master of Divinity from Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus, Ohio in June of 2007. I now live in Clarissa, MN (town of 609) where I am a Pastor at two Lutheran (ELCA) churches.
That is about all that is going on in my life so far. Hoping to see you at Chicken Days for the reunion!
I hope all is well with you.
It is almost the end of the semester and things are a bit crazy here. I still live in Lincoln and I will be done with school next summer, Summer of 2008. Doing my student teaching and whatnot. Josh is 6 now and is doing all right in kindergarten at Hill. I went to Colorado for NSTA Conference. I have a new boyfriend, Chris. That is been going very well. I spend a lot of time with him and his family. That's all that is new. I still have the same email address that's about it. Anyways I thought I should let ya know. Gotta get going lunch is over and students are coming in.
Mary...
Hello!
Well I graduated from Wayne State in December of 2002 but wasn't quite ready to enter the working world yet so I worked part time at Marriott and was a substitute teacher. It was then I realized I wanted to work on my Master's degree in Learning Disabilities at UNO. I was offered a position as a Graduate assistant at UNO and finished my Master's. I graduated in May of 2007 and am currently in my 2nd year of teaching Resource in Bellevue, NE. I was married to Dan Dunlap on July 21st, 2007. We live in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Hope to see everyone this summer!
Hey everyone, it's been fun reading what everyone has been up to the past 9 (I can't believe it's been that long!) years. I am living in the west metro of Minneapolis (Loretto). I married Chris Leatherdale in May of 2003. He's great. I run my own buisness (dressage (horse) training/instruction) in Minnetrista, MN. So life's good. I get to do exactly what I want to do all day long! No kids yet, but we are starting the adoption process which is fun.
We have a big house with lots of room for visitors if anyone is in the neighborhood and needs a place to stay (the cooking isn't the best though!).
I'm not sure what the show season is going to look like yet for me next year. But if I'm not showing I'll see everyone next July. Becca
It is hard to believe that almost 10 years ago we graduated. Where has the time gone??
For me it has been one thing after another.
After graduation I moved to Norfolk where I met my future husband, Craig. I graduated in 2000 with an Associates in Ag Business. After graduation I continued with my job as an office assistant for a feedlot near Wisner, NE and then in 2001 Craig changed jobs and moved me to the metropolis of Menominee, NE where I began my banking career as a Real Estate Loan Processor for First National Bank South Dakota in Yankton, SD.
In the fall of 2003 I decided that I wanted to finish my Bachelors degree and enrolled in an accelerated program thru Bellevue University and finished in the spring of 2005.
In 2006 my dreams can true and we started the purchase of my family farm near Hartington, NE when my grandparents decided to “retire” and move to town. So, the beginning of March we moved them to town after completely re-doing the house in town they bought. The end of March we were blessed with our son, Jarret and moved by the end of May from Menominee to Hartington. I also went back to work during that time. It was a busy and stressful 9 weeks.
2007 has come and almost gone and we are settled in our house, which is too small and have started working on a floor plan for a bigger house.
I am still working for First National and have moved from Real Estate Loan Processing to Ag/Commerical Loan Processing for just the Yankton branch to now being the primary person to all loan processing for all of our branches while being a loan assistant for our Commercial Lending office in Sioux Falls, SD. It is never a dull moment at work as someone is always needing money for one thing or another.
Craig is an electrician in Yankton and also keeps busy doing odd jobs for neighbors. Our farm is cash rented out for the next few years.
Jarret provides us with nightly entertainment and is all farm boy. His favorite work is Tractor and MMMM (=cow).
If anyone is ever going past our place feel free to stop in. We are just 9 miles North of the Hwy 20 and Hwy 15 junction north of Laurel – look for the Kent feed sign on the building near the highway.
We’ll see what the summer brings and maybe we will see you in July.
I can send a photo later, but other than longer hair I don't look too different from my yearbook photo. As for an update, I am currently trying to finish my master's thesis, and I should be graduating in May from the University of Missouri-Columbia with an MA in anthropology. I am also working for the National Park Service at the Midwest Archeological Center as an archeological technician/cartography technician. I'd love to get a permanent job with them when I graduate, but since our budget makes that a slim possibility and since there are slim pickings for archaeologists in the area I've been looking into a career change. So, when you see me in July don't be surprised to hear me say I'm going back to school in the fall for something completely different. Really, why would anybody want to graduate and start doing grown-up things like paying back their student loans?
Anyway, that's me in five minutes. Looking forward to the newsletter.
After high school I couldn't wait to get out of Wayne. I moved to Omaha in October 1998. I am currently living in La Vista.
When I moved to Omaha I went to work at Marriott and became a trainer after 6 months. While I was working at Marriott I went to college for a semester and decided it was not for me. After 2 1/2 years with Marriott I went to work for Carlson Hospitality. In 2002 I started working at Bakers Supermarket. After a year I was promoted to manager of the Deli. This was very shortlived- I'm just not cut out for firing people, and I didn't like coming home smelling like grease everyday and being on my feet all the time. I decided I wanted a career-not just a job. I started working for AAA Life Insurance in 2004. When I started with AAA Life I was doing case management work, then moved into a customer service position and started studying to get my life insurance license which I obtained a little over a year ago. I was promoted to my current position of Policy Placement Agent about a year ago. I have 10 agents I am assigned to. Once the policies they right are ready to go to the clients I take over and try to put the legal policy terms into terms normal people can understand and obtain money to get everything started. I absolutely love what I do.
I got married in 2004 to the boyfriend I had been with since I was a junior in high school. After 6 months we decided we had made a very bad choice and went our separate ways.
I met Aaron Peters (I know.. we have the same name... we hear the jokes about 10 times a day) in March of 2005. In July 2006 my brother was killed in Iraq and Aaron was beside me through it all. We got married in July 2007 at the Soaring Wings Vineyard in Springfield, NE (FABULOUS wine if any of you are wine drinkers).
My wife's name is Melissa, and I have a one year old daughter named Jayden. I won't be able to make it to the reunion because I am the best man in my brother-in-laws wedding. Sorry. If anyone would like to know what I have been up to or what I have done, then I can email the info or pictures to whoever wants it.
Hi Class of '98! It's been nice to read about what we have all been up to.
As for myself, I went to UNL, graduated with a degree in Advertising, moved to Minneapolis for a summer of flat-out fun, then moved to Portland, Oregon where I live now.
I currently work as an office manager for REI. Since I moved here, I've picked up some new hobbies: rock climbing, moutaineering (I summitted Mt. Hood!), road biking, backpacking, kayaking, snowshoeing, x-country skiing, hiking, etc. It is pretty much a playground out here, come visit!
I got married in September of 2006-- Bryan is the best. He's a photographer, mostly shoots weddings (that's where the money is), but he's going to teach a class and hopefully do some commercial work soon. We are like two peas in a pod.
If you want a little taste of our life right now, we have our own blog, mostly so our family can keep up with us:

Oh, yeah, my new last name is Hoybook. :)
Hope to see everyone this summer, I haven't been home to Wayne in over a year!
xoxo, Gayle
After High School I went to WSC studying Elementary Education. One summer I moved to Orlando and worked at Disney World which was fun. I moved to Lincoln in Jan 2002 and did my student teaching there. I graduated from WSC in 2002 and then substituted in Lincoln. I then got a job as a preschool teacher and worked there for a year before I got a teaching job at Wayne. Yes that's right, I teach at Wayne Schools in the Elementary and Middle School. I have been teaching there for 4 years and teach English as a Second Language.
I am getting my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in ESL and will graduate May 2009. I work at Curves ( a workout facility for women) partime and also at The Oaks partime. I live in a little house on Main Street with my cat Buster. I am looking to move out of Wayne especially with the cuts they are making at the school. I am not married or do not have kids but I have 9 neices and nephews and 1 that will be here soon making me an aunt of 10. I love being an aunt and spoiling all my nieces and nephews.
I can't wait to see everyone especially Lina and I hope she can make it from South America. See ya in July!
Hello Class of '98
So what have I been up to the last 10 years? Well after High School I went to North East in Norfolk, I graduated with a Degree in Early Childhood then I was like do I really want to do this for the rest of my life. So I went on to Wayne State and got my Degree in Sports Management. The Last Semester before I graduated I spent in Lincoln Working for a football Team I was able to stay on one more year after that with the team as their Office Manger and "mom to the players" it was fun. When I was in Lincoln I hooked up my Boy Friend Andy then I moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota and work for team their as there office girl and the keeper of the equipment. Then just over a year ago I moved again back to Wayne were I'm working at the Day care center here and loving every day of it. I'm also helping out a football Team too when I have time. That is what I have been doing the past 10 years. Hope to see you all in July
